“To see is to forget the name of what we see”, used to say Paul Valery. Following the logic of this language untrusting poet, listening would mean to discard the label that identifies what is listened. This weekend offers some projects that slip through the generic borders (although we inevitable need to resort to the genre to describe them).

Tribute to Joe Strummer. Dada X (ADDRESS, Allende metro station). $40 (women $20 before 23:00 hours) 21:00 hours.

Joe Strummer, The Clash’s guitarist and vocalist, passed away last December, who, notwithstanding his punk origins, was always eclectic in his music (he was one of the first to apply the potential of dub and reggae).  Deejays Transfer and Soda will pay him tribute with sets that will surely delight both rock and the electronic dance fans.
